Sometimes beautiful things come from times of crisis. Back in April 2020, All Things Made New sent out a call looking for more mentors to assist the youth participants who were suddenly grappling not only with the trials of middle school and high school, but also the uncertainty and isolation of a pandemic. One person who answered this call was Nick.
Even from the first interview, we were taken by Nick’s enthusiasm, energy, and deep empathy for the youth. In the last 10 months, that enthusiasm and energy have never waned. Nick jumped into mentoring with both feet, not only showing up to the weekly online group mentoring sessions, but also creating strong connections with the youth in his group. On top of group mentoring, Nick is a one-on-one mentor, slowly building a lasting relationship of caring and guidance with his youth participant.
Nick is also an ambassador for the mentoring program and has brought many of our new mentors into the fold. Nick is kind, consistent, and continues to find new ways to serve the youth at All Things Made New. For all those reasons and more, he is our very first Mentor of the Quarter.
Congratulations Nick! Thank you for all you do!
